Tottenham Hotspur have sold plenty of players this summer, but they have another player who could make them a tidy profit if they decided to sell him.
Radu Dragusin could bring in big money
With Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven at the heart of the defence, there has not been all that much opportunity for Radu Dragusin to put together a run of games for Spurs.
The Romanian defender joined the Lilywhites in January, but has had to make do with brief cameos or the odd game here and there to stand in for the aforementioned centre-halves when they are injured.
He is thought to be an important member of Ange Postecoglou‘s squad nonetheless, but if Spurs were looking to sell, FC Steaua București owner George Becali reckons the North London side could make a big profit.
He told Fanatik: “I told you €30m for Dragusin and that’s what [Genoa] sold him for, €30m. Dragusin is a centre-back. He can grow. How old is he? [He’s 22.] Dragusin, yes. He can be sold for €70-80m. He’s young, he’s tall, a centre-back. You rarely find it.”
Spurs signed Dragusin for a reported fee of £26.7m (including add-ons). Becali predicts the defender could be sold for between £59-67.5m, earning the club a profit of £33-41m.
Postecoglou rates Dragusin highly
There are no indications that Spurs are willing to let Dragusin go at this time. Postecoglou has regularly praised the Romanian for his performances, most recently singling him out for a good display in the defeat against Newcastle (Football.London).
In that press conference, Postecoglou also claimed Dragusin will ‘play a big part’ in the team this season.
