Among all the dozen pointed fingers at Erin Ten Hag in the past, his way of treating players has been a constant. While he focused on bringing the players he had worked with before, he turned a blindside on them in no time.
Bringing in players just for them to end up on the bench and denying players exit has been a common sight since Ten Hag’s arrival. In the most recent episode of this sequence, we saw Jadon Sancho being left out and brought back in just to be left out again. Following this, Sancho managed to escape the bench of Old Trafford on a loan move to Chelsea.
Enzo Maresca shines a light on unhappy Jadon Sancho at Old Trafford
Following his move to Chelsea, Jadon Sancho made his debut off the bench against Bournemouth. Not only did he assist the only goal of the game, he also picked up the Man of the Match trophy despite coming on in the second half. Sancho wasn’t even in the squad for United in this campaign. And has made a sudden impact for the Blues. In the post-game interview, Chelsea manager Maresca expressed how pleased he was with what he’s seen of the Englishman, saying:
“It’s very important. I have a feeling that Jadon is a guy that needs love. “This is what I thought when I spoke with him before he joined us.”
“Also I know he has the desire to show the player he is, but for me, it is just to enjoy football. “This is the reason why they play.
“They are happy and want to play football, they want to enjoy football and then because they are good, they are going to do good things.”
