Tottenham Hotspur are one of the most athletic teams in the Premier League, but they’re also a very technical side. Indeed, while it’s easy to get sidetracked by Micky van de Ven’s pace or Pedro Porro’s infinite energy, this Spurs team is also packed full of players who can do incredible things on the ball.
Speaking to Pro Direct Soccer, Ashley Phillips has been discussing some of his Spurs teammates, and he’s named Yves Bissouma as the best passer at Tottenham.
Tottenham have some wonderful passers, such as James Maddison, but according to Phillips, Bissouma is the player with the greatest passing range at Spurs.
Yves Bissouma is Tottenham’s best passer
Phillips shared his verdict on the £25m man.
“Yeah I’ve been impressed with Bissouma. He plays in that six role and he can play diags, he can punch it through. He has every technique in the locker as well. I’ve been impressed with him. He’s probably been the most diverse player in terms of passing for me.”
Yves Bissouma has it all
Yves Bissouma is a player who can blow hot and cold, but when he puts it all together, he is a wonderful talent.
Not only is he an incredible passer, he’s a fantastic dribbler, while he’s no slouch defensively, often using his strength to muscle other players off the ball.
Bissouma has the abilty to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, but, unfortunately, consistency isn’t his strong suit.
Bissouma can often have three or four poor performances in between his standout showings, and that’s something Tottenham need to address if they want to kick on to the next level.
The Mali international was brilliant at the weekend after returning from his in-house suspension, and let’s hope that his recent disciplinary issues light a fire under him and give him the gumption needed to prove all of his doubters wrong.
