Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has sent out a poignant message about his time in football after he was banned from the sport for a doping offence.Paul Pogba was provisionally suspended by Juventus last September after a failed drugs test, which found that he had elevated levels of testosterone in his system.
Following on from his initial sample, which was tested in August 2023, the 31-year-old suspended Juventus player’s B sample tested positive in October.
Pogba’s ban from football was confirmed back in February, with the French midfielder receiving a four-year suspension from the sport for the offence.
The 2018 World Cup winner is now ineligible to play professional football until 2027 after his ban was dated back to his initial failed drugs test.
Ex-Manchester United star Pogba, who left Old Trafford on a free and completed a return to Juventus in 2022, will be 34 years old when his ban is uplifted.

Paul Pogba has made it clear that he has denied any wrongdoing and previously vowed to clear his name against the doping offence now tied to him.
former France international’s second spell at Juventus was disrupted by injuries, with Pogba unable to emulate the incredible success of his first spell in Turin.
Pogba took to social media platform Instagram and posted a cryptic message about his future in football, with the Frenchman appearing to rule out retirement.
The former Manchester United star shared photos of him training with the ball on his own and shared a message about time eventually revealing the answers.
“Time has its own ways of revealing truth just be patient and live life, you will get answers sooner or later,” Pogba wrote to his Instagram followers.
Pogba on his doping offence
Italy’s national anti-doping tribunal, NADO, revealed that Pogba had failed the B sample after his initial test showed signs of elevated levels of testosterone.
NADO had appealed for a four-year ban to be handed down on suspended Juventus midfielder Pogba, which was confirmed in 2024.
Pogba, who previously said he would appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), was crestfallen after news broke of the doping offence verdict.
“Everything I have built in my professional career has been taken away from me,” he said in a statement in February.
Pogba added: “When I am free of legal restrictions, the full story will become clear.
“As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against.”
