Bryan King has backed Tottenham to sign Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman. The ex-Spurs scout claims the North London side should look to bring the Frenchman in as long as the transfer fee is reasonable.
As reported by TEAMtalk (27 August), Tottenham are considering entering the race for Coman.
Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth reported via X on Wednesday (28 August) that the winger is considering his options after Al-Hilal made a big offer for his services.
And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Spurs could benefit from Coman’s arrival.
“I’d have sooner brought Coman in than Timo Werner,” King said.
“He has been playing with a successful team in Germany. If he is available, and it isn’t going to be silly money, then I would certainly look to bring him in.
“A good squad is a squad that will hopefully win something, and Coman has that experience. Therefore, it will be interesting to see if that gets done.”
Tottenham to sign Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman?
If Spurs were to bring Coman in between now and the transfer deadline, it would be a real statement of intent from the club.
Coman has won everything there is to win in European football. Therefore, he could help instil a winning mentality into Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs squad.
It remains to be seen how much a transfer would cost and whether the player would consider the move. However, there is no harm in Spurs throwing their hat in the ring for what would be a marquee signing.
