Tennessee and the transfer portal: Rounding up the latest departures for the Vols
With the regular season and conference championship games in the books and the College Football Playoff bracket and bowl schedule filled out, the NCAA transfer portal takes center stage in college football with the database officially opening on Monday. At Tennessee, the focus is on the upcoming first-round CFP game at Ohio State on December 21, but even before the portal opened there were five players announcing their intentions to enter it last week as the team awaited its Playoff assignment and more have followed suit this week. The Vols also will be looking to supplement their 2025 roster via the portal to complement the top-10 recruiting class the program inked on National Signing Day (and after) last week.
Though things could be slower at the start of the portal window with Tennessee one of 12 Playoff teams vying for the national championship, the flurry of activity can be hard to remember who is leaving and who is coming in, but GoVols247 is here to track all of the departures and additions.
Tennessee’s transfer portal page offers a quick and easy resource to review the players the Vols are losing and who they are bringing in, but this breakdown goes a little more in-depth about each player and includes their 2024 stats, their 247Sports high school and transfer ratings and the impact of their move on the Vols.
