Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin has confidently stated that his side’s place in the top five of the Scottish Premiership is now assured, with just two games remaining before the league split. The Tannadice side are currently six points clear of seventh place, putting them in a strong position to secure a top-half finish.

Goodwin, who has overseen a steady improvement in form this season, expressed his satisfaction with how the team has performed. The manager assured supporters that with their current points advantage, a top-five finish is no longer in doubt. With two matches remaining before the league splits into the top and bottom six, Dundee United are well-positioned to maintain their place in the top half for the remainder of the campaign.

“It’s a significant achievement to be in this position with just two games to go before the split,” Goodwin said. “We’re six points clear of seventh, which means we have a buffer, and I’m confident we’ll finish in the top five. The players have worked incredibly hard to put us in this position, and now it’s about finishing strong.”

A top-five finish would be a notable accomplishment for Dundee United, especially with the competitive nature of the Scottish Premiership this season. The split will see the top six clubs face each other in the final matches of the season, while the bottom six will battle to avoid relegation or secure a place in the league for the following season.

Goodwin remained cautious in his comments, stressing the importance of maintaining focus in their remaining fixtures. “We still have two very important games to play, and we must continue to approach them with the same professionalism and focus we’ve shown throughout the season,” he added.

The manager also took time to praise the team’s collective effort, noting how several key players have stepped up to deliver crucial performances in recent weeks. “It’s been a team effort, and every player has contributed to our current position. But we know we must keep our feet on the ground and finish the job.”

With the final two games approaching, Goodwin is determined to guide his side through the last hurdles and secure a place in the top six, which would not only mark a successful season for the club but also set them up for a strong finish to the campaign. The Tannadice faithful will be hoping that the confidence and momentum continue to grow as they look ahead to the final stretch.
