Hull City Manager |Reuben Selles Opens Up About One of the Toughest Moments in His Career

Hull City manager, Reuben Selles, has revealed that he is currently facing one of the most challenging periods in his managerial career. Speaking in a recent interview, Selles reflected on the struggles his team has encountered during the first half of the season and the pressure he’s feeling to turn things around. Despite the team’s efforts, Hull City has faced inconsistency, leaving them hovering in mid-table and outside the playoff spots in the Championship.

Reuben, who took charge of Hull in the summer of 2024, admitted that this season has tested his resilience as a manager. “I’ve had my fair share of tough moments in my career, but right now, this is one of the most difficult,” Reuben Salles said. “As a manager, you always want to see your team performing well, and when that doesn’t happen, it’s a personal challenge. There’s no hiding from the fact that we’re not where we want to be.”

The Tigers’ squad has been hit with injuries and inconsistent performances from key players, which Reuben Selles believes has contributed to their struggles. “When you don’t have your best players on the pitch regularly, it’s hard to build momentum. Injuries have definitely played a part in where we find ourselves,” he explained. However, the manager remains determined to find a solution, stressing the importance of maintaining faith in his philosophy and the club’s long-term goals.

Hull’s poor run of form has led to growing scrutiny, with some fans voicing their concerns over Reuben Selles ability to deliver results. But the manager remains focused on improving the team and says he is leaning on his experience to help guide them through this tough patch. “I’ve been in situations like this before. I know what it takes to turn things around, and I’m confident we’ll get there.”

Despite the challenges, Reuben Selles is not one to shy away from accountability. “At the end of the day, it’s down to me to find the answers. I know the fans are frustrated, and I’m frustrated too. But we’re working hard every day to get it right.”

With the January transfer window underway, Hull City is looking to strengthen their squad, and Reuben Selles hopes new signings will provide the spark needed to get the team back on track. However, he remains resolute in his belief that the players already at the club are capable of stepping up to the challenge.
